General Motors reports its borrowings split between the car business and GM Financial, its lending arm, and the SEC data feed publishes only figures that are not broken out that way — so the pipeline can read its $21B of cash and none of its debt. That would value GM as though it had tens of billions spare rather than owed, which is the most flattering possible error and exactly the kind this site refuses to make. The check that compares a fair value against the market price caught it before the page existed.
